My name is Deanna Davenport and I am excited to be your child's teacher this year!
I've lived in Guthrie for 28 years and have been married to my husband, Brad for 26 years.
We have two great kids! Our son Braden is 25 and our daughter Denae is 22. Braden is a hunt guide for Bluestem Waterfowl in Oklahoma, Nebraska, Arkansas and Canada. Denae is junior at OSU and an intern with the Department of Wildlife.
I love to hunt,fish, hike in the Colorado mountains and just be outside! Being outdoors is my favorite way to spend time with my family. Hunting season is quickly approaching and I am looking forward to being out in the woods!
I will provide a balance of classroom activities that are both teacher-directed and child-centered. I understand that each child is equally special and will be treated with the kindness and respect they deserve. I have high expectations for every child in the classroom and will work hard to meet their individual needs.
An excitement for reading will be created through reading stories, poetry, and storytelling. Number concepts will be learned through a math program that incorporates math games, counting games, and also through literacy. I am eager to help your child develop a positive self-image and to become self-sufficient over time.
I hope that your child will be able to learn from me and that I will learn from working with him/her. I am a big believer in strong-parent-teacher-child relationships and am confident that we can work together to ensure your child’s success.
