My name is Casey DeHart and I am a kindergarten teacher at Fogarty Elementary. This will be my 3rd year of teaching kindergarten. I attended Guthrie Public Schools growing up and graduated in 2017 from GHS! I went on to graduate from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. I am also certified in Early Childhood Education and have grown to love it! I currently live in Guthrie, Oklahoma with my two cats Juniper and Rowan! As a teacher I understand that before children can begin to learn academically they must feel safe, comfortable, and respected in their classroom. To me, the classroom is a community and I want my students to feel that they always have a voice and place in my class. Parents are also an integral part of the classroom and I want my parents to feel that they are involved, informed, and have a voice in their student's learning. Kindergarteners learn some important phonics and math skills throughout the year, but they also learn how to be part of a community and interact with others in a social setting that they are likely not used to. It will be a lot of firsts for my students but I feel honored and excited that I get to experience those with them! I am always excited to begin the new school year and see my next group of students grow. Thank you for taking the time to read this and getting to know a little bit about me.
