Hello Bluejays! I graduated in December 2018 from Southwestern Oklahoma State University with my Bachelor's of Science in Psychology. I recently went back to SWOSU and finished my Master's of Education in School Counseling. I am from Guthrie and a former Bluejay myself. I went to GHS my freshman and sophomore years of high school; however, I graduated from Epic Charter School in 2015. While at GHS, I was involved in Science Club, Marching Band, Concert Band, and Jazz Band. I have two orange cats, Oliver and Boots, and a female kitty, Nala. They are very spoiled and loved. Along with spoiling my fur babies, I enjoy playing soccer, hiking and camping, going on the boat at the lake, and spending time with my friends and family. This is my sixth year at GHS. This year I am co-teaching Algebra I and Geometry. In the direct instruction setting, I teach: Critical Thinking, Edmentum (Algebra II), and Personal Financial Literacy, PFL. I also am the Secondary Online Edmentum teacher for students on an IEP. Along with teaching, I am the Lady Jays assistant soccer coach. In PFL, students will learn the process of applying for jobs, balancing a checkbook, and learn the difference between wants vs needs when purchasing goods and services. In Critical Thinking, students will learn organizational, analytical, and testing skills. Algebra II is a blended course, students will become more confident in their math abilities, improve their social/emotional/behavioral intelligence, and students will maintain a 60% or better in all courses, a study hall is built into the class agenda.
