CHRISTI ERBAR I’m originally from Commerce, Oklahoma. (The birthplace of Mickey Mantle - for all you baseball buffs). I graduated from Miami High School in Miami, Oklahoma and began my college career on a softball scholarship at NEO A&M College in Miami, Oklahoma. I transferred to Crowder College to attend school and play collegiate softball there as a sophomore where I graduated with an Associates Degree in Secondary Education as well as earning All-American Softball Honors as a shortstop. After graduating from Crowder, I earned a softball scholarship to Oklahoma State University in Stillwater where I played in the NCAA Big 8 Softball Championships and the NCAA Division 1 Softball College World Series two years in a row. I graduated and received by Bachelor’s Degree from Oklahoma State University in Physical Education, Health and Secondary English.
I have taught and coached in Cushing, Miami, Deer Creek in Edmond, Morrison, Perry, Stillwater, Crowder and NEO. I am currently on my second year at Guthrie Junior High in the Reading Department.
I have two grown children, Courtnei and Cole. Cole is married to Alexa and have given me a granddaughter, Beatrice. (We call her Bea). Cole works in the construction field and Courtnei is a Financial Manager for the Ferguson GMC dealership in Broken Arrow. I have a fiance’, Hal. He works in the masonry field in OKC. He and I have an Australian Shepherd, Heck.
I mostly enjoy my family and the time I get to spend with them. Hal and I have a place at Lake Carl Blackwell, so most of our weekends are spent out on the lake playing with friends. I enjoy reading on the dock or on our boat when we are there. Hal loves to read too. My goal is to read 100 books this year.I love being helpful to students in all their studies and activities to reach their personal goals. My most important goals this year are to encourage students to read more and be genuine and bold. |
