Safe & Healthy Schools and Wellness Committee

Guthrie Public Schools

Parents and families,

We wanted to take this opportunity to inform each of you about our site based Safe and Healthy Schools Committees.  Each school in Guthrie has one of these committees and they meet quarterly at the sites.  Parents are always welcome to attend.  Members of these committees discuss the following items at each meeting:

  • Health and nutrition
  • Playground safety
  • Building needs in reference to students safety
  • Student mental health (bullying and suicide prevention)
  • Any other concerns that are site specific

In addition to these committees, our district also has a Wellness Committee that contains a liaison from each school site.  This committee meets each semester.  The liaisons include:

The Wellness Committee’s goal is to ensure that each site is in compliance with the district’s wellness policy, and to discuss any needs or issues that require attention.  Our student’s health, safety, and overall well-being are the committee’s top priority.  If you have any issues or concerns please contact the site liaison at your child’s individual school building.

Thank you for being a partner in your child’s safe and healthy school experience!
